MEWINA Steering Committee holds its 2nd meeting on February 24th & 25th, 2013 in Cairo

Among a series of periodical meetings aiming at following up on the project implementation both at the technical as well as the operational levels, the Regional Project Management Unit (RPMU) organized the second Steering Committee meeting in its final formulation, comprising relevant international and regional organizations such as AMCOW, N-AMCOW TAC Members, FAO, WWAP, AWC, AUC & CEDARE.

 

In this respect, the 2-days meeting tackled the progress reporting on the overall project components and activities achieved both at the regional and national levels, and specifically on the Rapid Assessment Process, regional and national financial reporting, harmonization of State of the Water (SOW) indicators, a plan of the upcoming events and activities, & some challenges that need decision making. On the other hand, a voting that took place at the beginning of the first session resulted in the selection of the SC chair & co-chair to be Egypt and Tunisia respectively.

Towards the end of the meeting, different members reached agreements which were finally circulated and endorsed as a set of recommendations.
